The Santa Rosa County Explorer Post 483, Inc. was founded in August of 2004 by five (5) members of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. We are a non-profit [IRS 501(c)(3)] charitable organization which promotes an educational based youth program for young adults within our community. The Post is based on a program organized through the “Learning for Life” organization and chartered by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. (Click the icons on the right for more information.)
The founding members all had (and still have) a common interest in working with the youth in your community and promoting an educationally based program that inner twines with our own interests and careers. We found that forming our own organization would benefit the youth and aid in providing the necessary means to run a successful program.
Exploring is a program which helps young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. This program is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between the youth and the organizations within our community. With cooperation between the Sheriff’s Office and the community, we have developed a program of activities that will help our youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop. |
